Have You Missed Me?

There is so much to write about, it is daunting to find a place to start.

The end of last year became a blur as I began a very long term project. In fact it has been more that twenty years in the making and I have only just now begun to make headway. While on a vacation excursion to Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada I crossed from Anacortes, Washington State to the island by ferry. Along the way I met a few interesting characters who sparked my imagination.

One of them, a man who had worked in Public Communication with Universities in the Province and shared some great stories. We spoke of dreams and what we had in common as the boat cruised past several small islands and inlets. During the several hours we spent together I had an epiphany. Then I was introduced to the Canadian Broadcasting Companies, and pitched my ideas.

In my younger days, I had been involved with a few radio drama projects, some succeeded, others, well, let’s just say I was “a part of”… What evolved? Picture this, an Old Time Radio series but taking place in today’s world. Something that although fictional, feels real. They found it intriguing.

Well after pursing the concept for a while I found myself floundering. The fire still burned, but the writing, creation, marketing, and – everything involved had me stumped. I had a vision, but the landscape was getting cloudy. So although I kept the coals hot, I let the idea simmer. Until now.

With the advent of peer-to-peer web based audio tools such as SonoBus and of course others, I found I had a vehicle to make this idea come alive. I did not use AI to create the prose. Although I did consult it to help form ideas when I got stumped, and that was fun.

So, to get on with this blog post, I began getting creative in late fall last year. To date I have developed several novellas, and some short stories which are now being recreated into audio books and scripts for an episodic based audio play series. When finished with the scripts I will begin the next phase of this immense project, casting the main character voices. If you are someone who has a thought of auditioning for a long term project, you know where to find me – right here via my contact page.

If you want to help, I do accept… Oh, I forgot it’s not polite to ask for – help?! In My Humble Opinion (IMHO) this venture has potential to do very well for a long time.

I am sure some of you (OK, all of you) are thinking the same thing. What is the story about? Not to dis-illusion you but until I have all of the legal protection issues completed in hand, I am keeping it close to my vest. There are so many things to think about which require attention before I can release the specifics such as copyrights, ISBN’s, trademarks, distribution rights, formating, publishing, web site design, scripting, and so much more than I am able to enumerate here. But, I am negotiating the pathway and proceeding.

To sum this up, no matter how long you have had a dream, go after it. You never know what you are able to achieve when you dream big.
